I am your neighbor, an experienced teacher, leader and IT management consultant. I am running for the District 38 School Board.
Lewis-Palmer School District faces many challenges: managing its resources, keeping good teachers on staff and providing a 21st century education for the kids in our district. This calls for bold new leadership that embraces collaboration from all segments of the community—the school board can’t simply be a panel of experts handing down decrees from on high. We must innovate; keep what works, change what doesn’t.
I am a graduate of the Air Force Academy and served 22 years on active duty, returning to Colorado Springs in 1995. In 1995-6 I served as a volunteer task force co-chair for the Springs Community Action Plan. I’ve taught in School Districts 11 and 20 and for the Academy and Regis University. I’ve worked in Information Technology at the Community Partnership for Child Development, Agilent Technologies, Colorado Springs Utilities, and am now an independent IT trainer, consultant and business owner.

I am pleased to endorse Al Maurer for Dist. 38 School Board. Al is a strong fiscal conservative who I can trust to carefully allocate each dollar of the District’s money as if it were his own.
Hello Al,
Glad you are running. I live at a strategic corner in West Oak Ridge Development about 60 homes. I’d like one of your signs for the neighborhood. I know Jodi Richardson, so she could drop one off. I promise a good location. We are at the entrance to the homes, a can’t miss for the signage. 130 Pewter Lane, Monument.

Thanks, Lee! We’ll get a sign to you, no problem!
I really am looking for a reason to vote for you – but you are making it very diificult by not responding to candidate questions submitted by the Committee for Political Achievement at the Lewis Palmer web site. Why didn’t you submit answers to those questions?
I missed their 5pm Friday deadline so they refused to publish my answers. However, all the answers appear on the Q&A page on this site- and they have been available here even before the Committee posted theirs.
Why did you delete my earlier question in which I asked you why you did not reply to the questions submiied to you?
I didn’t delete it–it just took some time to appear.
